The weekend of Sept 5 and 6 for Team Z

Hi all,

Here’s what we’ve got on tap this weekend!

If you are doing Savageman HALF IRON and want to suffer a bit this weekend, please email me and I’ll get you in touch with another person who’d like to suffer.

  • The Saturday Unsupported Cambridge Ride START TIME: 7:30 AM (not 8:00 AM)
  • The Saturday Unsupported Skyline Ride START TIME:   Saturday 8:00 AM

*Unsupported means you should only go if you could normally head out for a 4 or more hour bike ride by yourself in the mountains or the country

**These Unsupported rides are coordinated through me (thank you!) and happening for a specific reason.   I will not be promoting these types of events frequently.

Helpful tip for the day:   Be careful how you speak to people in an email ”“ please read your note twice and ask yourself if you would say that to your boss.   Remember ”“ Email is not an easy thing to interpret your emotion/etc.

  1. Saturday ”“ Supported and Sagged Group Ride @ Southern High School, Harwood Md. 7:00 AM start.

This ride is a rolling workout with a general descent on fast and pretty roads down and through Chesapeake beach.   I love looking at the tall mast sailing ships in the harbor ”“ this is an all time favorite zr ride that is closer to home than most realize.   This ride is fine for MD people too ”“ you don’t have to go flat every ride!

Ride Notes:   Workout requirements for this weekend are: 80, 50-60, 40-50, and 15-20.

  • The 80 milers will do the 48 and then the 30, in that order.
  • 60 milers will do 48,  and the 17 in that order.
  • 50 milers will do either the 48.
  • 40 milers will do the 40
  • 30 milers do the 30
  • 17 milers ”“ do the 17.
  • IF YOU WOULD LIKE AN ESCORT FOR THE 17 or the 30 ”“ email me please.   We have two ride leaders that are there to teach.   This goes for stronger riders too ”“ if you are faster and go longer but still need help with shifting, etc ”“ please email me and I’ll make pre introductions!

==============================================

  1. Sunday ”“ Group Run @ Pierce Mill Rock Creek Park.   7:00 AM Start

This is an early start to beat the heat and also win the parking battle. The lot is small ”“ but there is plenty of street parking as you head up the hill.   The run is actually on rock creek parkway, shaded, and along the creek.   The road is closed to traffic on the weekend and this is a very pretty place to run in the heart of our city. This is an out and back run ”“ and I’ve posted a “cue sheet” of sorts for land marks and mileage in case some of you are not using GPS (in the this weekend’s cue sheet folder).
