Saturday Group Brick ”“ 9:00 AM ”“ Riley’s Lock, MD

YES ”“ another change. Sorry about that ”“ we haven’t had a chance to drive the White’s Ferry courses yet so don’t want to take a chance. Riley’s Lock offers a great place for a brick with the path right there. Please come out and enjoy the ride and run!

If you plan on going beyond the 61 mile (in four hours), please combine a couple of the other distances to make it easier on Sags (so do a 20 mile route and then a 50, etc.)

Parking: Please note that there are two parking lots a few hundred yards apart. If the lot on the end of the road fills please don’t try to invent spaces. Just use the lot right up the road.

AWOL: Mary Pickering

Ride Leaders: Donna Sumption, Jodie Hofacre

Sags: Daryl Cooch, Sara Greene, Katryna Hayden

Address: 13015 Riley’s Lock Rd, Poolesville Md 20837

Directions:   From 495, take the River Road west exit. Continue several miles until River Road turns left at Seneca Rd. (there is a stop sign). Turn left, then proceed a few hundred yards until Riley’s Lock Rd. on your left (13015 Riley’s Lock Rd). Riley’s Lock Rd. is at the bottom of the hill, immediately before the bridge.   Take Riley’s lock road to its dead-end/parking lot. Please allow 30 minutes from the Beltway to get to the Lock.

Sunday Unsupported Flat Century Ride for MoMers or IMLPers ”“ 7:00 AM ”“ Centreville, MD

Sunday unsupported flat century ride for MoMers or IMLPers.    This is not supposed to replace your brick on Saturday. If you have a brick on your training schedule, you should do that.

What?  Single loop century on the Eastern Shore. This ride will be flat and fast just to get some miles under our legs in advance of MoM and IMLP. This is an unsupported ride, which means I’ll have cue sheets but there will be no sags, no extra water, no designated pace groups.  Since it’s a single loop and a mechanical could happen 50 miles from home, we’ll work on the buddy system and exchange phone numbers in case of emergency.  Please note that there are no different distance options except the 100 miles. Bring additional powdered fuel, although there will be towns we will go through to buy water and supplies.

Where?  Municipal parking lot at corner of Happy Lady Lane and Water Street, Centreville, MD. Address –  284 E Water St,  Centreville, MD 21617. (Note – no restrooms at the start.)

When? 7am start. Centerville is just over an hour from DC but the day is going to be hot, so we’ll try to beat the heat.

More information? Contact Mary @ pickeringmary@yahoo.com. Please fill out the poll if you’re coming just so I know.

Sunday Mother’s Day!

There are no other team practices scheduled ”“ spoil your mom’s, grandmother’s, wives ”“ let your children spoil you”¦.recover from your brick session!
