The week of 5/23 – 5/29 in Team Z

If you are new, and in anyway in need of assistance – PLEASE EMAIL ME!  That being said, I know there is a back log of email I owe responses too.

Last week was not a solid week for me.  Which included the 1 hour of wait time and then 7 hours of trouble shooting with Quick Books to resolve the application issue and try to recover data.  I lost at least 3 weeks which I have to recreate, but it could have been worse!

What is new in this Monday to Friday Email?

1. The over all Weekend Look Ahead and Poll – please vote!
2. High Level – Jim McDonnell Open Water Practice Swim and Race (BOTH ARE STILL OPEN) Coach Dominic is lead instructor for the clinic.
3. High Level – MoM and Wilderness Road Ride Weekend Road Trip

 1.  Weekend Look Ahead

Poll:   Please Vote Early!   Or:   https://members.triteamz.com/polls/

  1. Saturday Local Group Ride  from Poolesville High School  – 7:00 AM (Support in Question, More Details TBD)
  2. Saturday Open Water Practice Swim and Clinic Opportunity Reston Lake Swim
  3. Sunday Local Race Reston Jim McDonnell Lake Swim
  4. Sunday Local Group Run  From Sunrise Valley Elementary – 10 am (Post Reston Swim) (Support in Question please wait for weekend details).
  5. Saturday Wilderness road ride, and “up to” 18 mile run from Deadmon Center, Radford
  6. Sunday Hike to Cascades/Cheer for MoM or ride MoM

The details to come for all weekend events.  I want to circle back with all of our staff for the local weekend events b/c with the holiday support is in question.  We will still have events, just stay tuned for the details.

Same for the road trip – wait for your details.  And, Ironman poeple – you DO have an 18 mile run the day before.  I’ve heard some saying “no way I’ll do that”.  You’d have had the same workout if you stayed home.  So I don’t know why you’d think about NOT doing the run unless you are injured.  They won’t let you skip the run at Ironman!

2.  Jim McDonnell Open Water Practice Swim and Race (BOTH ARE STILL OPEN) Coach Dominic is lead instructor for the clinic.

Saturday there are open water clinics and practice swims lined up from 7:00 AM until noon.  Our own Coach Dominic will be leading the sessions.  This is a HUGE opportunity to get some open water practice time.

The race is on Sunday – there is a 1 and 2 mile swims.  Both are wet suit legal, depending on water temps.  Normally the temps are fine and wet suits are allowed to be worn.   People staying local – the swim is great opportunity.

Wilderness Road Ride is a casual, chose your distance and pace bike ride.  There are aid stations, and some nice road riding in the Blue Ridge.  Entry fees are $30! Ride distances vary from 29 to 79 miles.  Your pace, your choice.

Hotels are pretty cheap too – so if you  have nothing else to do, join us for the weekend in blacksburg and radford va.

Details to come, but high level overview.

  2. Saturday Group Run – up to 18 miles – Radford Deadmon Center
  3. Sunday Group Hike – Cascades
  4. Sunday Group Hikers – bolt up the mountain to cheer at “misery point”.  🙂  Tons of fun, Tour De France Style Fun!

8. If you have trouble reading these emails or generally dislike yahoo groups –

  1. Please go to members.triteamz.com and click on “coaches comm” on the top navigation bar.  Every post from Alexis or I SHOULD be posted there.  We are getting much better at this.
  2. Alternatively you can go to the blog on the member site, and select “Moday-Friday Events” category.
  3. Soon yahoo groups will be gone all together – less issues of error when we eliminate the redundant communications.
