1.   Important Announcements and Reminders for this week

A.   90 minute long swims for IM MTB people will start this week.   Team Z Arlington Pools which will add the extra 1/2 hour are Providence Rec (5-6:30 AM), AU (7:30-9:00 PM), and Chinquapin Tues/Thurs AM (already from 6-7:30).   EVERYONE is welcome to get in the extra 30 minutes. But remember – the “regular” workout starts at the normal time.     The first 30 minutes is just for volume. You may also just arrive at the normal time and work with your lane as usual.

B.   We also have a 90 minute swim available in an outdoor pool at Old Keene Mill – 50 meter pool.   Not in our hood – but just wanted to make sure you guys are aware that this is a summer option.

C. This weekend is the big 120/20 weekend for our Ironman folks. We call this an “all hands weekend”. We rent pavilions, we get ABC permits, we bring the trailers and we run/bbcue on Saturday, ride/bbcue on Sunday.     Family is encouraged to come – if only for the bbcue and social then that is fine too.     We will have runs and rides of all distances – this is NOT for Ironman people only. This is for them (to suffer). This is for us (to have fun). And mostly – this is for us to show our support to our teammates. Come one day, come both – bring your family and or friends and lets have a great weekend and help our Ironman folks celebrate the hardest weekend of their training.

D.   Wed is a vdot test for everyone except IM MTB people. PLEASE try to make the track workout!

E. Luray is around the corner – Relays – Luray is simply one of the best local races in our area. We have participated in this event every single year since the start of our team. We are hoping that everyone that is NOT going to Ironman MTB will participate at Luray. And this includes the newest of people – and ESPECIALLY those who may not yet be ready to do the entire race by yourself. If you’re interested in doing a relay, look for an email about Luray relay teams forming. YOU WILL LOVE IT!
