Valentine’s Day Superstitions”¦it is said the kind of bird a female sees on Valentine’s Day will predict her future husband.

Sparrow: a poor man; Owl: remain spinster; Bluebird: a happy man; Blackbird: a priest or clergyman; Crossbill: an argumentative man; Goldfinch: a millionaire; Robin: a crime fighter like Batman; Flock of doves: happy, peaceful marriage; a Squirrel; you will marry a cheapskate who will hoard all your money.

Goldfinch, single ladies, goldfinch.

PowerTap Wheel Rental Opportunity (throughout the season)

Interested in training with power? Not sure if you want to take the plunge and spend all that money?  Black Dog Racing has a couple of PowerTap enabled wheels for rent. Normally we use these with clients just getting started, or who need a loaner power meter during times of maintenance or the like. The wheels have Shimano 10s 11-28t cassettes and Michelin Pro 4 Endurance tires (or similar) installed.  We don’t provide head units so you’ll need a device which can receive the ANT+ power information (e.g. Garmin Forerunner 310xt, 910xt, 920xt, Garmin Edge 500, 800, 810, CycleOps Joule 2, 3, or similar) in order to use the wheel effectively.  One issue that has arisen with the newer PowerTap built wheels that we use, primarily our Velocity Chukker models, is that the wheel may require that your rear brakes be adjusted since the rims on these newer wheels are wider than in times past.  So depending on the wheels you’re using now an adjustment may be necessary.  We can help you with that, or, and we’d recommend this given the important safety nature of brakes, you can get a qualified bike mechanic to do the adjustment for you.  If you’re interested in learning more, please contact Coach Tony at CoachTony@Black-Dog-Racing.com.
