We will meet by the baseball fields near the Outdoor Classroom (bathrooms should be open). The ride starts from the cars, crosses Braddock Rd at the light, and is then an about 11 or 16 mile route in quiet neighborhoods with some rolling hills.  With Friday night temps forecast for the upper-teens, this is a good ride location for practicing at being all bundled up without too much traffic.  Riders can do combos of routes for preferred miles with or without coming all the way back to the cars.  Possible post-ride hot drinks and sweet eats at nearby Swiss Bakery in Ravensworth Shopping Center.

Saturday Ultra Running Info Session ”“ Time TBD ”“ Location TBD

 

This year’s calendar includes something different (maybe even a little crazy?) — an ultramarathon race, The North Face Endurance Challenge. The  North Face  is a local trail race with 50 mile, 50K, marathon, half marathon, marathon relay, 10K, and 5K options over 2 days in mid-April.

 

Our Team Z Ultra Training Program is something  new  we’re trying— and we’re pumped to offer this program to anyone who is interested in jumping on the ultra craZy train!

 

If you’re interested in racing North Face or just curious and want to learn more about ultrarunning in general – come to  an ultra running info session this Saturday. We don’t have the location nailed down just yet but will send time/location info as soon as available.

 

Our own ultra experts, Iwan Balcet and/or Tony Stocker, will be leading the session and answering your questions. Topics covered will include:

 

– Is Ultrarunning right for me?

– Can I safely do or be prepared for TNF 50k/50 miller by April?
